Literature Text

Sitting around ‘cause you’re tired of walking
Staring at sunbeams ‘cause you’re tired of sleeping
Trying to forget ‘cause you’re tired of thinking
Keeping away ‘cause you’re tired of loving

Life was never supposed to be
A child’s fantasy
But it’s the greatest lesson
The greatest gift we have

Just let the world be
You’re not the only one
Who knows there’s something wrong here
That alone should tell you
Some things are still right
If you give up now
‘Cause you can’t see the reasons
Life will leave you behind
And then you’ll never know
But I’ll stay with you
So just let the world be

Resigning to sadness ‘cause you’re tired of smiling
Thinking you’ll stay there ‘cause you tired of leaving
Asking why you’re here ‘cause you’re tired of dreaming
Wishing to vanish ‘cause you’re tired of being

With everything that’s good and bad
All this confusing chaos
Find peace by trusting that life
Always knows what it’s doing

Just let the world be
You’re not the only one
Who knows there’s something wrong here
That alone should tell you
Some things are still right
If you give up now
‘Cause you can’t see the reasons
Life will leave you behind
And then you’ll never know
But I’ll stay with you
So just let the world be

(insert little piano solo :D )

Please learn to trust again

Just let the world be
You’re not the only one
Who knows there’s something wrong here
That alone should tell you
Some things are still right
If you give up now
‘Cause you can’t see the reasons
Life will leave you behind
And then you’ll never know
But I’ll stay with you
So just let the world be

I'll stay with you

Don't let this defeat you

Become a greater you

And just let the world be
Well.... I actually wrote this on Friday, May 26th. It was inspired by a close friend of mine who was feeling very down, which was unlike him. I really wanted to cheer him up. So I wrote him a song. :D

I wrote the poem and got the basic idea for the music within maybe an hour and a half on a Friday night, and then I completed it within an hour or two the next morning. It all just really poured out. I feel strongly about it.

I wanted to not let anyone see the words until I was able to post the song as well.... But I have no idea when I'm going to be able to get it recorded, and.... Well, just in case at least the words alone work to cheer up anyone else.... I'll post the poem. :D But hopefully the song will come in the not-too-distant future. :D

This is the song I played and sang at my last-ever high school choir concert.... It got me a standing ovation. Let me tell you, there are few things more thrilling than taking a bow and then looking up to see a bunch of people standing and clapping and cheering for you. It made me want to cry. :) The song isn't exactly about just accepting the world as it is cold turkey.... :D It's about accepting yourself, your place in it, and then accepting the world itself just as it is. It's like accepting a person--flaws and all. And only when one accepts the world can one understand it, and then only by understanding it can one make a difference in it.

.... Yesh. :D And now I'll stop blabbering and let the poem speak for itself. :D

Oh!

I managed to inspire a standing ovation, though not completely connected in such ways?

Sadness is occasionally quite wonderful!
